Principal's Message

Welcome back after what felt like a bonus week of Winter Break!  I am so happy to be back in the building after my medical leave.  I truly missed the students and staff during my recovery.  Thank for all of the kind words and messages during my time away.  I would also like to thank Mrs. Woods for stepping into the principalship.  I know that everyone and everything was in good hands!  

Parent-Teacher Conferences are being scheduled for the evenings of Tuesday, February 10th and Thursday, February 12th.  It is our goal to connect with 100% of our families!  Teachers have sent home conference forms, but if for some reason you missed it, then please just give us a call in the office (937-866-4691) and we can get you scheduled. 

As we approach Valentine's Day there are always questions about what is and is not permitted.  Students are absolutely able to distribute Valentine cards to one another! Every student will be provided a white bag to collect their cards and have an opportunity to decorate their collection bag during the school day.  In alignment with the MCS Birthday Treat Policy, edible treats attached to cards are discouraged.  Pencils, erasers, tattoos, stickers, etc. are examples of permissible items. 

The Miamisburg City Schools will celebrate Kindness Week February 16th through February 20th.  Mrs. Hall has lessons and activities planned to reinforce this important expectation.  The district has also planned spirit days (see below).

PurposeFull People is the social-emotional learning curriculum adopted by the Miamisburg City Schools.  The program focuses on three main outcomes:  Be Kind, Be Strong and Be Well.  Each month students learn about a different character trait during classroom lessons and morning announcements.

PBIS is a schoolwide approach aimed at establishing positive student culture and behavioral supports to ensure a safe, effective learning environment. Clear expectations have been developed for all areas of the building (i.e. Hallway, Restroom, Cafeteria and Playground, etc.). These expectations are taught to students and reinforced throughout the year. All Miamisburg Elementary Schools use the same matrix of expectations.
