Bear Primary Parent Update

August 2025

Principal's Message

Welcome to Bear Primary School! Our building services students in preschool through Grade 2.

We have welcomed a number of new staff members, including:

Nicole Collier - Monitor

Laurana Gordon - Kindergarten

Patrick Diehl - Physical Education

Joneka Deleon-Mendez - Preschool Family Liaison

Wendy Mills - Preschool Supervisor

Open House for students entering Grade 1 and Grade 2 will take place on Thursday, August 7th from 4PM to 5:30PM. Class lists will be posted that evening. Families will have an opportunity to visit classrooms, meet staff and drop off school supplies. PTO will be providing ice cream treats for all students. There will also be information tables in the gym for the following organizations: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Bear PTO and YMCA. We hope to see you there!

Kindergarten Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, August 13th as follows:

Last names A-M 9:45AM to 10:45AM

Last names N-Z 1:30PM to 2:30PM

Students can begin entering the building at 8:45AM daily. If your child is planning to eat breakfast, then they should arrive at 8:45AM; however, any student that wants breakfast will be served regardless of the time they arrive. The school day officially starts at 9AM. As many of already know a section of Riverview Avenue was recently opened, but the rest of the street remains closed. This closure may add several minutes of travel time for families planning to drop off and pick up students daily, so you may want to allot a few extra minutes for travel time again this year. Building arrival and dismissal procedures will remain the same as last year (see below).

Finally the Miamisburg City Schools is always looking for individuals to fill various positions in the school district. Open positions can be viewed on the MCS Human Resources page on the district website.
